Teaching & Education

Continence education is a particular passion we have at Continence and Nursing Care Australia. So many nurses lack the knowledge, experience or confidence to carry out continence procedures such as catheterisations. We have partnered with many Residential Aged Care Facilities and nursing agencies to provide the highest quality training, where we focus on teaching the most up-to-date research-based practices to nursing staff.

Our continence education team is equipped with a catherisation model to provide not only practice in catheterising, but also ensures that practical competencies can be demonstrated on the same day as theory competency. This can be done in the convenience of your facilities anywhere around NSW.

Knowledge is Power

Continence and Nursing Care Australia has also run education on dementia, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, mental health and Multiple Sclerosis. Rarely do continence issues present without other factors so this knowledge is critically important for nurses. These issues are also important for community groups, and Continence and Nursing Care Australia has also run education sessions for community group on these issues, and for the health and fitness industry on pelvic floor health and pelvic floor-safe exercises.

We believe in Holistic Nursing

Complex wound management and palliative care is also an important field domain of nursing for which Continence and Nursing Care Australia conducts training for nursing staff. We believe in holistic nursing, and these areas of nursing require a high degree of knowledge to undertake effectively.

It is now a requirement for NDIS providers of high-intensity supports to have undergone training to meet the needs of specific clients. Our CNCs are qualified in the delivery of all high-intensity support training for care and disability workers.
